HAKURYUAN KATSUYAMA Co., Ltd.

 

We mainly manufacture kimono belts (Obis) and monk coats (Kesa) for high priests since our inception.
But over the past few years, we have been trying to develop sales channels, including overseas, to new areas such as interior and architecture.

1939 The founder, Masayuki KATSUAYAMA was born in Kyoto.

1962 He graduated from Doshisha University.

          He began working in the father's management shop.

1967 He became the director.

1977 He founded Hontsuzuré-Katsuyama Co., Ltd.

1979 He founded Gyozan-Orimono Ltd. Location.

1985 He delivered these two companies to the brothers and established

          Katsuyama-Shoji Co., Ltd.

1987 He moved the company.

         And he changed the company name to

         “HAKURYUAN KATSUYAMA Co., Ltd.".
 

2005 　By the death of the founder,

　　　 The eldest son of the founder, Tomoaki KATSUYAMA

　　　 became a president-director for the second generation.

 

 Since our first exhibition in 2012, we are awarded every year at the  Nishijin Textile Exposition.

  Besides, in 2015 and 2016 we have won the "Minister of Education,   Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award" which is the highest  

  prize of the Tsuzure-ori sector for the second consecutive year.

             Start developing to the interior field.
